"Some people think that the extraordinary abilities are needed to play the theremin. This is not the case. The only prerequisites are a good ear for music, good coordination and the ability to concentrate, because one can only control the tone by relying on one's own sense of hearing."
Lydia Kavina
Lydia Kavina has been teaching the theremin since 1986. Her video tutorial “Mastering the Theremin”, recorded with Moog Music in 1994, became one of the main levers for the growing popularity of theremin training and the spread of theremin performance. Among Lydia’s students are many well-known thereminists, such as Carolina Eyck, Barbara Buchholz, Masami Takeuchi, Wilco Botermans, Olesya Rostovskaya, Miles Brown.
